In-Session | AZTLAN GOAL LINE
presented by El Cardenal De Aztlán and youth from Yollocalli Arts Reach.

AZTLAN GOAL LINE is a radio and performance art project by El Cardenal de Aztlan inspired by the text Borderlands/La Frontera by Gloria Anzaldúa.
Two flag football teen teams will fight to deliver traditional comfort food to the end zone. To do so, they must cross the border – The Aztlan Goal Line.
The youth of the audio-radio journalism program from Yollocalli Arts Reach will narrate the game for the spectators, bringing a dialogue on territory, migration, food, and identity.

El Cardenal de Aztlan will broadcast the recording of the performance on his radio show Screams of Combat on Lumpen Radio-WLPN 105.5 FM– in July 2018.

This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency through federal funds provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
