Priscilla Dobler Dzul
Bio
Priscilla Dobler Dzul is an interdisciplinary artist. She grew up in the industrial redlined section of South Tacoma, WA. This area of Tacoma has the highest rates of pollution in the metropolitan area, the least amount of tree canopy, and a superfund of 128 acres on top of Tacoma’s aquifer system, the South Tacoma Groundwater Protection District, which is being destroyed to build an international mega warehouse. Her inspiration comes from her passion and commitment to the preservation of land, oral stories, craft and representation of her multi-Maya cultural heritage. Her research is driven by a commitment to narrative change through social justice, racial equity, and artistic mastery.
Dobler Dzul has exhibited in the United States and internationally. Most recently she has shown at the Frye Art Museum (SeaPle, 2025-2026); the 32nd Biennial de Pontevedra (Galicia, 2025); ARCOMadrid art fair (Madrid, 2024); and Material Art Fair (Mexico City, 2023 & 2024). She received her MFA in Sculpture from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Dobler Dzul lives between Tacoma, WA and the Yucatán.
